The beginning of my Americana & Summer-themed vignettes! Featured in this image are treasured family heirlooms, including my father-in-law’s rocking chair and the family bell, with Jasmine ivy, capturing the beauty of the red, white, and blue!! #memorialday#july4th#allaboutamerica#andapplepies
America, the beautiful, sweet land that I love. As our summers begin with the beloved Memorial Day honoring the fallen who have served our nation, I set out flags lining our driveway, our mailbox and place images of our flag throughout our home married with red geraniums and boxwood.
Summer is a time for families to come together celebrate our freedoms and remember the journey of our forefathers… from the celebration of our nation’s birth on July 4th weekend that encompasses neighbor, brother, and friend with many hot dogs and apple pies…but it’s more than just the food and the relaxation…it’s about the connecting and the comfort we find again.
As I continue to decorate for the summer months with the red, white, and blue, these images are a reminder of how great our country is and the resilience our faith and our freedom exhibit as we journey down the parade route this July 4th or remember the family members or friends who gave their lives for our freedom.
Ronald Reagan said in 1983…”I don’t have to tell you how fragile this precious gift of freedom is. Every time we hear, watch or read the news, we are reminded that liberty is a rare commodity in this world.” These words still ring true today and will for years to come.
